Queen Margaret Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RSW to join our Community Rehabilitation Team (CRT) in the Dunfermline Locality.

The CRT provide rehabilitation to the adult population within the locality. This will be delivered to service users as in-patients, out-patients or within their own home.

The primary function of this role will be to work with the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy & District Nursing Services within CRT to deliver therapeutic treatment programmes to service users in the ward setting or their own homes, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital. Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists & District Nursing will provide specialist assessments to this patient group and allocate work to this post holder. This post will primarily deal with the function of daily rehab in the community, operating shifts to provide a service 365 days of the year from 0800-2200.

You will require to have an SVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or equivalent relevant subject. Experience working as a support worker would be desirable. It would be desirable to have experience working with older people as they are the main group of service users referred.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team you will be expected to carry out ongoing treatment programmes for a mixed caseload of mainly older people.

You will have good organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work independently as well as within the team.

There may be occasions where you will be required to work in one of the other community hospital sites.

You will require to work 25 hours flexibly over 7 days.

Our service offers regular supervision, PDP and supports training opportunities.

The ability to travel throughout the area is essential for this community position.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
