What you’ll do
As a Test & Applications Engineer you will be the bridge between the workshop and the customer. You will pull machines apart, test them under different conditions, create samples, measure results, and try to break them before they reach customers.
You won’t just analyse from behind a desk. You will be hands‑on with the machines, involved in build, test, fault‑finding, and sometimes supporting on‑site installation.
On the other side you will explain what it all means, write reports, present options, and show customers how their machine can perform in the real world.
No two days will look the same; some will be spent fault‑finding and analysing data, others with customers discussing specifications, metallurgy, coatings and durability.
There may also be opportunities to support commissioning or troubleshoot machines at customer sites.
Why it matters
These are complex industrial machines used across manufacturing environments where performance, durability and precision matter.
You’ll turn complex engineering theory into practical answers, taking real ownership of testing and proving performance and improving processes.
What will help you succeed here
* Engineering background with solid theory
* Experience across mechanical, electrical or materials processes
* Possibly an electro‑mechanical background, e.g., control panel, wiring, testing or commissioning machinery
* Curiosity to take machines apart and test them properly
* Strong analytical skills and clear report writing ability
* Confidence presenting practical solutions directly to customers
