Due to an internal promotion within the service, ESTEP East has a Band 5 vacancy based in Rochford.
ESTEP is the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service that covers South East Essex. We are looking for an exceptional mental health nurse to work as an EIP Care Co‑ordinator within the team. The role is community/office based and ideally should involve existing community experience and a passion for working with this client group.
Key Responsibilities
Being part of someone’s journey towards recovery is extremely powerful and rewarding. For people with a psychotic illness we offer a three‑year period of engagement, allowing practitioners to establish relationships and agree plans of care. Much of the first few months focus on developing trust and a shared understanding of the person’s experience.
* Adapt your working approach to establish relationships with service users.
* Balance clinical activity with good standards of record‑keeping on the electronic record.
* Provide psycho‑education around psychosis.
* Use assessment tools and engage with friends, families and carers.
* Contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) settings.
* Engage in supervision and training.
* Have a good understanding of medication and evidence‑based interventions.
* Assess and manage risks.
* Be skilled in care planning.
Qualifications / Desired Experience
Band 5 health board staff with knowledge of NICE guidelines, experience of community nursing, and a strong interest in early intervention in psychosis are strongly preferred. Good record‑keeping skills and an ability to work independently in a community/office setting are essential.
