Our Information and Library Services Directorate delivers award winning IT services and support, library, academic and digital skills and learning enhancement to staff and students across the university. Our digital mission is to ensure everyone in our community is equipped to effectively use digital services, data and technology with confidence, efficiency and creativity in their learning, teaching, research and organisational support.
The University of Greenwich is home to a truly global community of staff and students, and we value the talents and lived experience of each and every one of them. We believe in Education without Boundaries: supporting our students to achieve their ambitions because of, not despite, their background.
We are seeking to appoint an academic librarian to support our Business subjects, as part of the Academic and Digital Skills Team which plays a vital role in the student academic journey, supporting transition, attainment, continuation and progression. Candidates with Business experience would therefore be particularly welcome to apply along with librarians of other backgrounds.
Academic Services Librarians deliver high quality library services to staff and students across the university. Each Librarian acts as the primary point of contact for academic schools and departments within a faculty at the University of Greenwich. The postholder will work seamlessly with other librarians to support this faculty and others as required, and this portfolio may change over time.
The postholder will work as part of a large team alongside Librarians, Academic Skills Tutors, and a Digital Skills Developer to deliver a rich and varied programme of digital, information and academic skills training both online and in person which in many instances is embedded into academic programmes.
Other responsibilities include attending departmental meetings and managing relationships with key staff in the faculty such as programme leaders, developing the print and digital collections for the subjects and managing the associated budgets for the departments.
The University launched its and its in 2022. The postholder will be involved in supporting elements of delivery of both strategies. They will ensure support is delivered to appropriate levels across campuses and across the four faculties.
