Shifts: Monday–Friday 08:45–17:15 (occasional Saturdays)
Location: Regional cover – Chester, Ellesmere Port, Flint, Holywell, Mold & Wrexham
Must have own vehicle & DS licence
About the Role
Mitie is recruiting Relief Security Officers to support an exciting new contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This is a great opportunity to join a professional team protecting key public service sites and supporting local communities.
You'll be a visible presence on site, ensuring staff and visitors feel safe, while delivering excellent customer service and responding professionally to any incidents.
This role is ideal for a flexible, mobile security professional who enjoys variety and working across multiple locations.
What You'll Be Doing
Security & Site Protection
1. Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property
2. Conduct regular site patrols and identify potential risks
3. Respond calmly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activity
4. Liaise with local emergency services when required
5. Carry out routine security checks and complete incident reports
Customer Service & Professional Conduct
6. Provide a welcoming, professional presence at all times
7. Assist staff and visitors with security-related queries
8. Handle challenging situations with confidence and professionalism
Health & Safety Responsibilities
9. Identify and report hazards or security risks immediately
10. Take proactive steps to prevent disruption, loss, or damage
11. Keep accurate logs and incident records
12. Follow all Mitie and DWP policies, procedures, and regulations
What We're Looking For
Essential:
13. Valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) licence
14. Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
15. Flexibility to travel across regional sites
Desirable:
16. Previous security experience
17. Strong communication and customer service skills
18. Reliable, professional, and calm under pressure
