Scope of Role
The Global Head of Legal manages the Legal department. Reporting to the CFO, you will:
* Support the sales and business development team with the drafting and negotiation of contracts.
* Support the procurement of business‑critical goods and services.
* Support the business on all legal matters, e.g., employment, IP, real estate and litigation.
* Oversee the ITRS company secretarial function.
* Communicate with ITRS providers of company secretarial services to ensure companies remain compliant with local laws and regulations.
* Assist the finance department with insurance, company secretarial, business licence queries, compliance and risk mitigation.
* Provide a hybrid work schedule, working 3 days per week in the London office.
As Global Head of Legal, you will:
* Be a trusted adviser and partner—deal with all legal aspects of the business in a commercially sound manner and provide guidance and counsel for accomplishing ITRS’ overall OKRs.
* Manage the legal function—provide a vision and OKRs for the legal function aligned to ITRS OKRs; support, oversee and empower the team; work with external legal and other advisers to ensure ITRS receives the best possible advice; manage the legal budget.
* Provide Leadership—lead by example and by company values; inspire a shared vision and enlist others; challenge the process with innovation, experimentation and take risks to develop the department and its function.
* Support sales and procurement functions—manage ITRS suite of template legal agreements (including software licensing, partnerships and managed services agreements) and negotiate contracts and schedules with ITRS customers, partners and suppliers.
* Support the business on all legal matters—be a point of escalation for all legal issues arising across ITRS; assist with compliance and risk mitigation; work with external counsel across jurisdictions where ITRS operates.
* Work with the finance department—assist with insurance, company secretarial, business licence queries, compliance and risk mitigation.
* Oversight of the ITRS company secretarial function—work with providers of company secretarial services to ensure group companies remain compliant with local laws and regulations.
Requirements
* Experience as a qualified solicitor with 8 years PQE and experience in general commercial law.
* Experience working in‑house for a software company or financial services business.
* Ability to analyse information of a written, verbal and technical nature, probe for further information and create workable solutions to problems.
* Track record in drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements (including software licensing, maintenance and distribution) and custom commercial contracts.
* Commercial awareness.
* Experience assessing situations, operating autonomously and making decisions.
* Clear and concise communicator, both written and verbally.
* Flexibility to react quickly, re‑schedule and prioritise workload.
* Experience managing a team of legal professionals.
