Purpose of the Post
To provide a proactive service to female survivors of domestic abuse whose criminal cases are being heard at Nottinghamshire Courts. This includes cases at the Specialist Domestic Abuse Court (Nottingham), Mansfield Magistrates Court, Nottingham Magistrates Court, and Nottingham Crown Court. The role involves responding to and providing practical and emotional support, safety planning, and early intervention to ensure that survivors receive appropriate support, considering their dual role as survivors and witnesses. A full driving license and the use of a car are essential.

This position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. The service is run by women for women and is therefore restricted to women applicants under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9 Part 1, and Section 7(2) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
