Job Description:
Do you have experience working with children in a school setting? Are you passionate and highly motivated to achieve the best outcomes for the young people? If so, join Bere Clinic School as a Learning Support Assistant, where you will be working with 12 young people aged 11-17 with eating disorders.
As a learning support assistant, you will provide on-hand support to teachers as they design and deliver classroom lessons. This will see you assist in the preparation for these lessons, ensuring that the classroom has all of the materials required and supporting pupils to engage in the syllabus.
You'll be able to think creatively and build a strong rapport with the cohort, encouraging engagement and support with their learning, behaviour and social skills progression.

You will be working in a small team of 6 subject specialists within the school and well supported by the wider Elysium healthcare hospital community.
This is a part time post 22.5 hrs - flexibility within these hours can be considered for the appropriate candidate.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Previous experience of working with children in a school setting.
• Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
• Hobbies/interests/skills that contribute to a wide curriculum offering
• Experience of working with young people with SEMH needs and/or SEN
• Ability to identify and implement interventions to ensure that students engage in lessons and make progress
• Resilience, flexibility, and adaptability in approach to meet individual needs
• Ability to empathise and engage easily with young people, offering appropriate and professional support at all times
