Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager – Major Projects
Location: Central London (Office-based)
Salary: Up to £67,000 + Package
We are working with a tier-1 contractor delivering large-scale, multimillion-pound projects across residential and commercial sectors. Sitting within the Major Projects division, this role offers the opportunity to manage high-value schemes involving both public and private stakeholders, ensuring commercial success and long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Commercially manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, including billing and reporting
* Work closely with the Delivery Team to ensure service excellence across all stages of project delivery
* Maintain accurate information and communication management internally and externally
* Review and develop operational processes to improve project performance
* Provide accurate project reporting and updates to senior management
* Identify, investigate, and qualify new targets, opportunities, and client accounts
* Prepare cost, sales value, and margin analysis aligned with commercial objectives
* Build and maintain strong client relationships to increase revenue
* Contribute to market strategy development and implementation
* Negotiate contract values and scopes of work
* Review and implement effective pricing strategies and closing tactics
* Ensure bids are compliant with regulations and internal policies
* Present key information at sales meetings and other forums
Safeguarding & De-Risking:
* Manage risk assessments for new initiatives
* Participate in tender settlements and review documentation
* Ensure best-practice terms and conditions are applied
* Keep up to date with industry trends and developments
* Represent the organisation at relevant industry events
Teamwork:
* Collaborate with Delivery and other departments to ensure consistent project delivery
* Promote service excellence throughout the commercial lifecycle
* Support other members of the Commercial Team where required
* Contribute to a positive and supportive workplace environment
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager on tier-1 or large-scale projects
* Strong knowledge of commercial and contractual management principles
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and client accounts effectively
* Commercially astute with a proactive approach to business development
