Job Description
Organon is hiring a Maintenance Manager to join our world‑class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland.
This role provides hands‑on leadership and day‑to‑day management of our Bulk Pharmaceutical IPT maintenance technician team. You will be responsible for delivering a robust preventative maintenance programme, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the highest standards of GMP, safety, and compliance.
You will play a critical role in improving equipment reliability, developing people, and supporting production priorities within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Role Responsibilities:
* Lead planned preventative maintenance delivery, ensuring safe, efficient execution, reliability, and adherence to agreed schedules and cycle times.
* Investigate equipment failures using data, root cause analysis, and structured problem‑solving to drive preventative and continuous improvement actions.
* Use KPIs and performance metrics to improve maintenance effectiveness, reliability, and cost efficiency.
* Act as a key liaison across shifts, IPTs, production teams, and Centres of Excellence to support operational priorities.
* Provide strong first‑line people leadership, including goal setting, feedback, performance management, employee relations, recruitment, and onboarding.
* Build team capability through training, cross‑training, skills development, and maintenance of mandatory and role‑specific competency requirements.
* Ensure full compliance with EHS, GMP, quality, audit, SOP, and change management requirements, maintaining inspection readiness.
* Manage budgets and maintenance spend, contributing to profit plans, capital investment decisions, and bulk‑related capital projects.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
* Proven experience leading maintenance teams in a pharmaceutical, biotech or regulated manufacturing environment
* Strong working knowledge of GMP, SHE and quality systems
* Demonstrated ability to drive preventative maintenance, reliability improvement and structured problem solving
* Confident people manager with experience in performance management, training and employee relations
* Data‑driven mindset with experience using KPIs to drive improvement
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
