Delivery Director
Department: Data Platforms
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Bristol, UK
Reporting To: William Taite
Compensation: £100,000 - £130,000 / year
Description
The headlines...
Start Date - ASAP (can accommodate 3 month notice periods for the right candidate)
Working Model - Hybrid; minimum of 2 days on-site per month - once in our Bristol HQ and once on-site with the client (location can vary here)
Why this role exists…
Snap is growing fast (120% in the last 12 months) and we are continuing to partner with globally recognised, enterprise clients on increasingly complex and strategic data initiatives. We need leaders who can support in expanding accounts (facilitate value‑led workshops, shape proposals, own SOWs/RFPs) and lead the technical delivery at scale through high‑performing teams. You’ll help clients unlock long‑term value while helping to shape Snap’s delivery capability and commercial outcomes.
What you'll be doing...
You’ll play a central role in winning, shaping and delivering enterprise data programmes. You’ll work closely with senior client stakeholders, Delivery, Commercial, and Capability teams to land measurable business outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Lead pre‑sales to signature: run discovery and win‑the‑room workshops, shape proposals, and craft value cases.
* Own commercials: author clear, assumption‑driven Statements of Work; define pricing & billing structures; adjust commercials as scope evolves.
* Orchestrate bids: coordinate RFP/RFI responses (solution narrative, team shape, risks, commercials).
* Deliver at scale: govern large team programmes with strong risk, quality, and benefits tracking; course‑correct decisively.
* Grow accounts: spot/convert opportunities; build multi‑year relationships; expand teams and scope.
* Build great teams: bring people together, set high standards, support welfare, and mentor senior consultants/managers.
* Provide thought leadership on data and analytics strategy and architecture within the modern data stack at a strategic level.
* Show up in person: run monthly team days in Bristol and typically a monthly client on‑site.
In your first 3–6 months, success might look like:
* Win and launch a strategic data transformation with a clear, measurable value case. (Workshop → proposal → signed SOW)
* Establish programme governance and rhythm; de‑risk delivery and demonstrate early business impact.
* Grow an existing account through a targeted expansion plan
* Achieve high levels of customer and employee sentiment scores from the team members on your project.
What you'll need to succeed...
We’re looking for someone who brings strategic vision, commercial acumen, and team leadership, paired with strong architecture literacy and board‑level credibility.
You might be a great fit if you have:
* Depth of experience: 15+ years in data and analytics with significant consulting leadership across enterprise programmes.
* Commercial ownership: you’ve personally run workshops to win work, authored SOWs, led RFPs, and aligned price/structure to outcomes.
* Stakeholder influence: trusted advisor at senior/board level; confident with difficult conversations that protect value and relationships.
* Team builder: proven record creating cohesive, high‑performing teams and developing future leaders.
* Strong data and analytics domain expertise leading the design and build of large, enterprise analytics platforms.
* Modern data stack familiarity: experience guiding programmes that use contemporary cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Matillion, Fivetran, DBT) and scalable architectures.
* Industry expertise: deep literacy in at least one enterprise sector; Financial Services exposure is especially valuable; CPG/Retail also strong.
* Consulting cadence & travel: ready to lead monthly Bristol team days and monthly client on‑sites.
This role might not be the right fit if you’re looking for:
* A purely hands‑on technical role without leadership, commercial, or client‑facing responsibilities.
* A role focused on data science/theoretical analytics rather than delivery, influence, and business outcomes.
* Remote‑only work with limited in‑person leadership moments (team days, key client sessions).
