Job Role – Junior Design Engineer
As a Junior Design Engineer, you will support the design team in creating, modelling, and drawing bespoke products and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in engineering design. You'll learn to ensure a right-first-time approach within short lead times and assist in updating existing solutions to maintain a consistent library of parts that meet the latest safety standards and design guidelines. You will also help provide wider teams with relevant information and documentation.
Key Responsibilities for the Junior Design Engineer Role
3D Modelling and 2D Drawing: Assist in producing 3D models and 2D drawings using Inventor for components and assemblies.
Technical Documentation: Support the preparation of product manuals, spares lists, and test reports.
Product Development: Contribute to research, testing, and validation of new products.
Collaboration: Work closely with production and purchasing teams to ensure designs are fit for purpose and cost-effective.
Customer Interaction: Occasionally attend customer sites with senior engineers to ensure design specifications are met.
Qualifications and Skills for Junior Design Engineer
Essential:
Basic proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor or similar software.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proactive attitude and flexibility.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
