About The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and professional individual to join the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Adviser Service in North-East Lincolnshire. This role covers Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Immingham, and surrounding villages. The Dementia Service provides responsive, individualised support to people affected by dementia.
You will manage your own caseload, organise and facilitate a monthly dementia café, and host pop-up information stands. You will be part of a supportive team, sharing responsibilities such as administrative tasks, including local service telephone cover, building relationships with local contacts, networking with health and care professionals, and voluntary sector organisations to make dementia a priority in North East Lincolnshire.
You will be part of the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Support and Partnership Directorate, delivering direct support to people affected by dementia and their caregivers, ensuring they are central to decision-making and have access to appropriate support at the right time.
About You
* An empathetic listener and effective communicator, able to adapt their style to suit different audiences, including carers, families, medical professionals, and colleagues, using a person-centred, empowering approach.
* Skilled in assessment, able to identify, signpost, and refer individuals to suitable services based on their needs.
* Proficient in IT, capable of accurately recording data using client record systems.
* Understanding of client confidentiality and how to apply it when representing client needs.
* Effective time and workload management skills, able to work autonomously and within a team.
* Living within or near North East Lincolnshire, with the ability to travel across the area.

What You’ll Focus On
* Providing compassionate dementia advice in person, over the phone, virtually, or in writing, from various locations including the office, home, community events, and information stands.
* Networking and collaborating with other organisations supporting people affected by dementia.
* Developing proactive outreach strategies to engage those who may not access existing services.
* Planning and facilitating monthly memory cafés, creating a welcoming environment, and managing volunteers.
* Supporting challenging situations with resilience and sensitivity.
* Ensuring services comply with Alzheimer’s Society policies and legal requirements, such as Data Protection and Safeguarding.
