The Role Are you a technically minded leader ready to shape the future of analytical excellence across a global inspection business? We’re looking for a Technical Manager to join our Technical Services Team and play a pivotal role in elevating laboratory performance, standardising analytical methodologies, and driving innovation across our UK and international operations. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of analytical strategy, influence multiple laboratories, and work closely with senior leaders, clients, and specialist teams. About the Position Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm Hours: 37.5 hours per week Location: Prescot Contract: Full-time and Permanent The day to day Leading the development, improvement, and implementation of analytical methodologies across the Group. Providing daily technical support to the UK commercial laboratory, including troubleshooting equipment, materials, and methods. Working closely with laboratory teams and the Assay service department to align priorities and enhance productivity. Driving analytical initiatives that improve turnaround times, reduce disparity between laboratories, and deliver cost savings. Guiding and supporting staff undertaking system and method audits in line with ISO 17025 and company quality procedures. Deputising for the UK Laboratory Manager when required and supporting new business start-ups from an analytical perspective. The Essentials A qualification in Chemistry and strong hands-on experience in inorganic chemistry within a laboratory environment. Proven technical experience in the mining, commodities or similar scientific industry, with an excellent understanding of ISO 17025. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and implement effective improvements. Practical experience using continuous improvement tools, plus familiarity with LIMS and validation processes. Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and work collaboratively. Demonstrable ability to develop, standardise, and maintain policies, procedures and best practice across multiple laboratory sites.
