Technical Consultant – 60,000 + 5,000 Car Allowance - Pre-Sales - Cloud, Cyber, Microsoft
Are you a Technical Consultant with a background in pre-sales or solution design within the MSP space? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing and award-winning IT services provider, delivering innovative cloud, security, voice, and managed IT solutions to a wide client base.
With a base salary of 60,000 + 5,000 car allowance, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with clients and sales teams to deliver technical solutions that solve real business challenges.
The Role
As a Technical Consultant, you'll play a key pre-sales role - supporting the sales team by scoping and designing IT solutions that span:
* Managed IT services
* Microsoft 365 and Azure
* Networking and infrastructure
* Cyber security
* Unified communications / voice
You'll engage directly with both new and existing customers, running discovery sessions, presenting demos, and advising on the right mix of technologies to drive ROI and business value.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with sales to understand client needs and shape technical solutions
* Lead technical discovery meetings and translate requirements into scalable solutions
* Design and present IT solutions tailored to business and technical needs
* Deliver compelling demos and proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, supporting C-suite engagement and relationship building
* Stay up to date with vendor tech (Microsoft, Sophos, Cisco, etc.) and industry trends
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Background in pre-sales, technical consulting, or solution design
* Experience within an MSP or IT service provider environment
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, cyber security, and unified comms
* Confident communicator, comfortable with C-level engagement and technical demos
* Commercial awareness and ability to align solutions to client budgets and compliance
Desirable:
* Certifications from vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Sophos
* Experience in project delivery or consulting prior to moving into pre-sales
* Understanding of MSP models including SLAs, recurring revenue, and professional services
Location & Travel
This is a field-based role with travel to client sites, requiring flexibility and excellent stakeholder management skills. You will also regularly liaise with internal teams across the UK.
