Rate of pay: £13.79 per hour rising to £14.18 as of week 13
Hours of Work: Tuesday to Friday 06.00-16.45 (45 min break)
Duration: Temporary Ongoing
As a weed removal operative, your work will be vital to keeping Edinburgh's streets and pavements clear and well maintained. This is a physically demanding role that requires persistence, strength, and a willingness to work outdoors in all conditions.
Responsibilities: Remove weeds from streets, pavements, and public areas using manual tools and equipment provided.
Carry out heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
Safely collect and dispose of waste materials from weed removal.
Work as part of a team to ensure all areas meet high cleanliness standards.
What to expect: Physical demands: The role involves heavy lifting and continuous use of hands and lower back. You must be prepared for physically strenuous work.
Outdoor working in all weather conditions.
PPE, full induction, and training will be provided.
