We're looking for an experienced and strategic leader to join our Real Estate Services (RES) team as the Head of Real Estate Services, UK. Real Estate Services (RES) is part of the Global Procurement & RES Infrastructure team within the Global Chief Operating Office (GCOO) at HSBC. The function is responsible for shaping and delivering the Bank's real estate strategy globally, working in close partnership with businesses, senior leadership and external strategic partners As the Head of RES, UK, you will provide strategic leadership for HSBC's extensive UK real estate portfolio, ensuring it is actively and efficiently managed to meet the Bank's evolving business needs. You will be accountable for the delivery of end-to-end real estate services, including facilities, workspace, and project delivery, while leading a high-performing team, and managing significant supplier partnerships. This role works closely with senior stakeholders across the Bank to shape the real estate portfolio in line with business priorities. The role will report to the Head of RES, UK, Europe, LATAM & US. In this role you will: Lead and manage a diverse portfolio, ensuring safe, resilient, and efficient delivery of real estate services across offices, branches, and critical facilities. Working in collaboration with relevant RES value stream leads, providing clear direction and priorities, setting the 'tone from the top' through HSBC values and conduct expectations. Manage strategic supplier partnerships, ensuring effective service delivery, strong commercial performance, and continuous improvement. Have accountability for the financial performance of UK RES, including operating and capital expenditure, delivery of the annual FRP, and maintaining cost discipline. Oversee operational risk across the UK portfolio, ensuring clear accountability, effective escalation, and rapid response to material issues. Shape and deliver innovative initiatives across portfolio optimisation, workspace operations, office and retail solutions, sustainability, and critical facilities. Proactively manage relationships with key business stakeholders, aligning priorities and service offerings to meet business needs. Work effectively as part of the regional RES leadership team, amplifying a high-performance culture and enabling the Regional Head of RES to focus on the delivery of strategic outcomes. Embed standards of excellence across the team, reinforcing accountability and sharing best practice. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: Technical & Professional Expertise: Experience in Real Estate Transactions, Workplace, Facilities, and Project Management within a large corporate environment. Supplier & Operating model management: Experience managing strategic service providers in an outsourced operating model, with clear ownership of performance, service delivery, and commercial outcomes. Financial Performance: Strong financial and commercial acumen, with a solid understanding of real estate financials and experience in managing budgets. Stakeholder & Enterprise leadership : Demonstrated strategic mindset and strong communication skills to engage and influence business stakeholders within a complex matrix organisation. Risk & Operational Management: Sound judgement in overseeing risk management, minimising operational disruption, and ensuring compliance with HSBC's risk framework. People & Culture Leadership: Ability to lead and develop teams, fostering accountability and a high-performing culture, while role-modelling collaborative behaviours. Change and Transformation: Strong change and transformation mindset to drive simplification and digitisation of activities. Professional qualification : Relevant and demonstrable professional qualifications in relevant field. Real estate training, project management, and change management skills are advantageous.
