Location: Broughton, North Wales (onsite)
Pay Rate:
* £21.68 per hour PAYE
Working Pattern: 35 hours per week (overtime paid at premium rate)
An established aerospace manufacturing organisation is currently seeking a Logistics Business Controller to join their finance function based onsite in Broughton. This role has arisen due to increased workload and offers a long‑term contract opportunity within a complex and fast‑paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Understand the operational environment, including strategy, governance, challenges and constraints
* Lead financial planning activities, preparing accurate forecasts and setting multi‑year financial targets
* Develop and maintain financial models, simulations, scenarios and business cases to support decision making
* Anticipate financial risks and opportunities, advising on appropriate mitigation actions
Analysis & Reporting
* Produce accurate financial reporting at an appropriate level of detail
* Analyse actual performance versus forecast and advise on corrective actions
* Review cost base, revenues, unit costs and R&D spend
* Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and competitiveness improvements
Operational & Business Support
* Calculate hourly rates and support resource reviews and headcount planning
* Prepare chargeback and cost reallocation models
* Approve shopping carts, audit purchase orders below approval thresholds and review commitments and accruals
* Support data quality, triggering cost re‑bookings or transfers where required
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in a business controlling, finance or cost control role (experience valued over formal qualifications)
* Strong understanding of financial reporting processes
* Good knowledge of governance frameworks
* Background in manufacturing or a highly regulated operational environment preferred
* Confident stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to challenge and influence
