A well-regarded secondary school in Aylesbury is seeking a passionate and skilled English Teacher to join their English department for an immediate start. This role is open to both full-time and part-time applicants, offering flexibility alongside the opportunity to inspire and engage students through a love of literature and language.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school and national expectations
Foster a love of reading, writing, and communication among students
Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities
Maintain strong classroom management and a positive, inclusive learning environment
Work collaboratively within a supportive department and wider school team
Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching English at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum
Effective classroom management and communication skills
A commitment to high standards and student progress
Desirable:
Knowledge of current GCSE specifications and assessment frameworks
Willingness to participate in ongoing CPD
Interest in supporting extracurricular activities such as debating, creative writing, or drama
