Summary of Our Role Havas SO is looking for a multi-disciplinary Head of Design to redefine creative excellence in the agency and elevate our design output to be truly contemporary, impactful, and industry-leading across HCP advertising, PR, and patient engagement. This role will be pivotal in shaping a distinctive visual language for Havas SO and fostering a culture of bold, innovative design thinking. As Head of Design at Havas SO, you will push the standard of design across different projects by establishing the conceptual execution of design projects and campaigns. You are responsible for producing impactful, original, and intelligent design work which impresses the client and surpasses their need, and captivates audiences, drives measurable outcomes, and earns industry recognition. You will work in conjunction with the Creative team on all design solutions, including digital, interactive, and print. You will also work alongside the Client Services team to communicate with the client when appropriate, whilst ensuring the Creative team is represented correctly at all times. You will use your knowledge and experience to mentor more junior colleagues in the team, helping to develop their skills and capabilities. This is a full-time permanent role and our current hybrid working arrangement is two days from home. Our office is located in Kings Cross. What You Can Expect to Be Doing: Setting bold, inspiring creative direction across digital, print, experiential, and emerging platforms (AR/VR, voice). Translating complex medical narratives into accessible, emotionally resonant visual systems. Mentoring and developing a diverse team of designers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Collaborating with strategy, copy, digital, and client services to deliver integrated campaigns. Leading design for pitches, award submissions, and high-impact client presentations. Embedding inclusive, sustainable, and data-informed design principles across all touchpoints. Navigating healthcare regulations (e.g., ABPI, FDA, EMA) while maintaining creative excellence. Driving operational excellence by managing resources, timelines, and budgets effectively. This Role Could Be a Great Fit for You If: You have 5–7 years’ experience as a Senior or Lead Designer, ideally in healthcare communications. You’re passionate about mentoring and shaping the careers of creative professionals. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and love solving complex design challenges. You’re fluent in tools like Adobe CC, Figma, Cinema 4D, and have a strong grasp of UI/UX, typography, branding, and motion design. You’re excited by innovation—whether it’s experimenting with AI, exploring new media formats, or rethinking how we tell stories in healthcare.
