Overview
We require a motivated nursing auxiliary with a genuine interest in caring for the older person to join our team. Ward 43 is a busy medical assessment unit with a commitment to multidisciplinary team working. We specialise in caring for patients with delirium, dementia and frailty.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality nursing care to older adults in Ward 43.
* Work with initiative and participate in multidisciplinary team activities.
* Develop and extend clinical skills, including venepuncture, TPR (temperature, pulse, respiration) and blood pressure measurement.
* Support patients with delirium, dementia and frailty as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
* Work flexible hours to meet service needs, including rotation to night duty.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience in medicine for the elderly is desirable; good communication skills are essential.
* A current or prospective member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
* Requirement to demonstrate the right to work in the United Kingdom; see GOV.UK guidance for routes of permission. Pre-employment checks may include entitlement to work verification.
Working arrangements
Hours will be worked to suit the needs of the service; this will include rotation to night duty.
