Purpose of the role
Lightsource bp provide comprehensive Operation & Maintenance (O&M) solutions, including preventative and reactive maintenance, assessments, monitoring, reporting, cleaning services and engineering.
As part of Europe’s largest O&M fleet, the primary purpose of this Field Service Engineer position is to maintain Large Scale Solar plants to an optimum operating condition.
Location
The ideal candidate will be located in Cornwall (Truro area)
Duties and responsibilities
1. Adhere to all HSE procedures at all times and play an active role in risk assessment.
2. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of: electrical components. inverters (i.e. thermal analysis, performance analysis). modules (i.e. thermal analysis, integrity checks). CCTV/Security Systems. Monitoring systems. Structures (i.e. bolt tightening, corrosion checks).
3. Provide comprehensive reports in line with Lightsource BP standards, in a prompt and diligent manner; these business-critical reports can be prepared remotely, not necessarily at site or in the office.
4. Provide electrical maintenance services for portfolio of solar farms in a specified region. This will require regular travel to sites in your allocated region. On occasions you will be expected to travel to different regions to provide extra support if required.
5. Assist with the compilation of insurance and warranty claims.
6. Take full ownership of assigned sites.
7. Manage relationships with local subcontractors
Knowledge & Minimum Experience Required
8. Electrically trained; BS7671 and Level 3 Electrical NVQ or equivalent (e.g. apprenticeship completed, IET etc)
9. Able to safely pass LV1 assessment Desirable:
10. Previous experience working as Electricians Mate.
11. Industrial PV installation maintenance experience.
12. Inverter maintenance experience.
13. High Voltage (HV) Switching experience.
14. Knowledge of network infrastructure (e.g. LAN, routers, switches).
Work Skills
15. Clean, full Driving Licence.
16. Working at heights is an advantage.
17. Be comfortable working in a team.
18. Good time-management and punctuality.
19. Ability to work under pressure.
20. Able to prioritize workload effectively.
General Skills/Attributes
21. Able to work remotely without close supervision.

Education and Qualifications
30. A recognized electrical qualification such as City and Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition), would be an advantage.
31. Any Inverters maintenance course would be an advantage
32. Testing and inspection certification 2391 an advantage
