Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor, full time at 37.5 hrs per week, working in an In-patient stepdown rehabilitation setting. This role will involve working with individuals who have serious mental health conditions. You will work closely with the Occupational Therapists to meet patient orientated goals and support progression through a recovery pathway. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor who is person-centred in their approach and enthusiastic about working within a recovery focused environment that offers empowerment for our patients. We support patients to build on their strengths, remain positive about their lives and provide support to transition from an inpatient environment to the community.
Successful applicants should demonstrate the ability to maintain high standards of patient care and be responsible for the promotion and application of Occupational Therapy with support from a qualified Occupational Therapist. You will need a specific interest in working in a busy, challenging and complex setting.

* Work with Occupational Therapists to meet patient orientated goals and support progression through a recovery pathway in an inpatient stepdown rehabilitation setting.
* Provide occupational therapy assistance under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist.
* Apply a person-centred, recovery-focused approach to patient care and empowerment.

Pre-employment checks

* Professional registration and/or qualification check
* Occupational health assessment
* Employment history and reference validation
All applicants external to the NHS will be required to provide their HMRC employment history to cover the most recent three years employment. This information will be used to validate employment history and references as part of pre-employment checks.

If the role you have been offered is not eligible for sponsorship, and you are not able to evidence your own right to work, your conditional offer could be withdrawn.
What happens when pre-employment checks are complete?
Recruitment will liaise with you and the hiring manager to arrange a start date for your new position. You will then be booked onto a Trust Welcome Session and be sent your Pennine Care NHS Terms and Conditions.

We are a 16-bed inpatient unit based at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. We provide mental health rehabilitation and high support to men over 50 who have a severe and enduring mental health issue, like schizophrenia, and are ready to step down from a medium or low security setting. We have a proven track record in managing patients who have spent a substantial period of time in a secure environment. Many of our patients also have varying degrees of cognitive impairment and physical illness.
