Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Purfleet
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Mon-Fri 8 hrs per Day
We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to carry out planned and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and keep our plant operating at peak performance.
What you’ll do:
* Perform scheduled maintenance on heavy machinery and material handling systems
* Diagnose and repair mechanical issues quickly to minimise downtime
* Support major shutdowns and overhauls
* Ensure safety compliance and accurate maintenance records
What we’re looking for:
* Strong mechanical skills (hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, drive systems)
* Ability to read technical drawings and use diagnostic tools
* Recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical or welding/fabrication disciplines
* Experience with preventative maintenance and fault finding
* Solid knowledge of safety procedures, including LOTOTO, confined space entry, and working at height
* Comfortable working in industrial/heavy plant environments
