* £1,000 paid with your first month's salary

As a Service Manager within Children Social Care, your responsibilities will include:
* Management of the Children Looked After and Leaving Care service
* Provide leadership to a team of social care professionals to ensure all interventions are child-centred, emphasizing the best interests of children and young people in our care
* Develop and implement children-focused policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance service delivery
* Lead on court-related case work and proceedings
* Manage personal advisors supporting care-experienced young people on their pathway to adulthood
* Manage budget planning and resource allocation to ensure service sustainability and efficiency
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding practices to promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people
* Foster a positive team culture encouraging professional development opportunities for staff
You will play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership, ensuring compliance with legislation, and overseeing teams including Team Managers, social workers, and personal advisors. Your expertise will be essential in monitoring practice, managing processes, and data to meet statutory requirements and address the health and wellbeing needs of children and young people in our care and care leavers.
A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and policy application is essential, along with a proven track record of positive outcomes for children and young people. The successful candidate should demonstrate the following competencies:
* Qualified Social Worker with a Social Work Degree or recognized qualification, registered with Social Work England
* Significant experience at team manager level (ideally 4 years), with frontline safeguarding practice experience
* Leadership skills and social care expertise to develop your service according to changing needs and policies
* Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with understanding of social work practice within Children Act 1989 and Working Together 2023
* Knowledge and experience of services for care-experienced young people is advantageous
