37.5 hours per week, worked 9-5:30 pm Monday to Friday with a one-hour lunch break.

The role is based at our HQ in Newton Abbot, Devon, with an option to work one day a week from home.

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Category Leader to identify and source the most sought-after cricket products on the market, helping to shape our offering and stay ahead of the competition.

Responsibilities of an Assistant Buyer
* You will assist the Category Leader and other Assistant Buyers in building positive relationships with new and existing brands while maintaining positive working relationships to help maximise potential within the marketplace.
* You will continually build extensive knowledge of the marketplace to be proactive when opportunities arise, such as identifying gaps in the market or the introduction of new brands.
* You’ll monitor and analyse sales data, stock, price trends and competition.
* You will manage order books, daily orders and deliveries.
* You will review and identify stock opportunities
* You will assist the Category Leader with marketing ideas, market research and methods to help drive sales online, in catalogues and for campaigns.
* Research current events on social media to ensure that we are up-to-date with current trends and competition.
Skills of an Assistant Buyer
* You will have proven and demonstrable experience from similar buying roles and/or knowledge of the e-commerce retail industry.
* You will take a proactive and driven approach to required tasks.
* The ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanour, including courteous interactions with team members and other departments.
* Good communication skills and the ability to provide clear and concise instructions/briefs.
* Able to work independently and resourcefully.
* Travel as and when required to fulfil role responsibilities.
