Job Description:
As an Auditor, you will support our Compliance Caseworkers (Tax Specialists) in conducting tax, duties, and levies investigations.
You will provide technical systems and data interrogation support to address non-compliance and electronic sales suppression. This involves analyzing customers' computerized systems, software, processes, and data related to their accounts.
You will mentor and coach junior colleagues, enhancing their confidence and skills through your leadership qualities. We are committed to supporting your personal development and providing necessary training. The role involves:
* Interviewing customers and their representatives, either virtually or face-to-face at customer premises across the UK.
* Using critical thinking to analyze systems and processes to identify potential risks and errors.
* Communicating findings and recommendations clearly in reports and formal settings.
* Managing multiple cases efficiently, meeting targets, and updating internal systems accordingly.
* Documenting systems and audit trails, including details of software used.
* Leading in-depth analysis of complex systems and data, producing audit reports.
* Testing the accuracy of customers' financial and tax data.
* Creating, reviewing, and approving internal guidance, systems knowledge, and best practices.
* Reconstructing partial data records using judgment, logic, and evidence.
* Supporting and coaching junior auditors on complex technical aspects.
Person specification:
No prior tax knowledge or experience is required to apply. We seek candidates with:
* Good computer literacy, including Office 365, Excel, and Word proficiency.
* Ability to critically analyze data and information and draw logical conclusions.
* An interest in solving IT issues.
* Confidence in using unfamiliar software.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation and handling difficult conversations.
* Good organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple cases effectively.
Desirable criteria include:
* Understanding of information systems and accounting software.
* Knowledge of governance and risk management.
* Skills in data extraction, manipulation, and analysis techniques.
