This is a rewarding opportunity for teachers who are committed to supporting pupils with ASD and additional complex needs within a specialist setting.

Location: SEN Secondary School in Colchester, Essex
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Permanent
Salary: M1 to UPS1 + SEN allowance (where applicable)
Hours: Full-time
Key Stages: KS3 & KS4The Role:
Plan and deliver personalised, engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEN
Support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Promote students' academic, social, and emotional development
Work closely with SENCOs, therapists, and support staff
Lead classroom routines and contribute to the wider school community
Ensure high standards of safeguarding and inclusive practiceThis is a fantastic opportunity within a school that has a strong, supportive leadership team and a clear focus on student wellbeing, progress, and independence. Requirements:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Experience teaching pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and complex needs
Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum
Experience supporting students with communication and social needs
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
