We are seeking to appoint a team of site security officers, to work alongside our well established portering team. These are newly created posts, and the primary responsibility will be to fulfil firewarden and site security duties, alongside the daily portering duties required to maintain a high standard of service throughout the hospital.
There are 5 x 35 hour posts available, and successful applicants will need to be able to work flexibly within a 24 hour period, although the rota is predominantly night shifts.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will;
* conduct regular fire checks throughout the shift, and addressing or escalating any issues as they arise.
* perform site security checks, ensuring the building has been properly secured, and remains so overnight.
* routine portering duties.
A driving licence to drive Health Board vehicles is essential for this role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Experience of dealing with the general public

* Similar portering experience or some care experience.
* Experience of handling difficult or violent persons
* Training in similar portering duties.
Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Able to demonstrate literacy, numeracy and comprehension skills.
* Basic Health and Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling and Food Hygiene knowledge, or willingness to learn through on the job training
Desirable criteria
* Food Safety level 2 certificate.
* Welcome host certificate
* Health and Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling training.
Other
