Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer - OCGT Project - Grimsby, United Kingdom - £Excellent Daily Rate - 6 Month Contract + Extensions - Mid-September Start Date - Outside IR35
As Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will take full responsibility for the planning, execution, and oversight of all electrical commissioning activities. You’ll ensure systems are tested, energised, and integrated safely and efficiently, while meeting project milestones and technical specifications.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage the electrical commissioning program and schedules
* Supervise testing and energisation of HV, LV, protection, and control systems
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and statutory requirements
* Lead a multi-disciplinary commissioning team and coordinate with construction & operations
* Manage documentation, reporting, and final handover procedures
Requirements:
* Proven experience as Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer on OCGT, CCGT, or large power generation projects
* In-depth knowledge of HV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, protection schemes, and control systems
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate contractors and suppliers
* Excellent documentation and communication abilities
