Teaching Assistant (SEMH/SEN) Location: Greater Manchester Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum Contract: Permanent Start Date: ASAP About the Role The Education Specialists (TES) are recruiting on behalf of a specialist education provision in Greater Manchester for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in building positive relationships, supporting behaviour regulation, and contributing to a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities Supporting Students Build strong, trusting relationships to support students’ emotional, social, and academic development Support and implement personalised plans including EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and risk assessments Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using proactive strategies Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions focused on SEMH and wellbeing Encourage engagement in learning by removing barriers and promoting participation Support students during unstructured times (breaks, transitions, etc.) Provide feedback to staff and parents/carers on progress and achievements Support emotional regulation strategies (e.g. Zones of Regulation) Work with students both in a...
