In this role, you will help BioMar’s manufacturing operations run efficiently, safely, and sustainably. You will engage in both short-term problem-solving and long-term projects, gaining hands-on experience through placements and secondments across different parts of the business during the first year.
Responsibilities
* Support and improve manufacturing processes to ensure high quality and efficiency
* Monitor performance data to identify and solve process issues
* Document and share best practices across operations teams
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects that drive innovation
* Ensure health and safety standards are met at all times
Qualifications
Must-have:
* Degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering at 2:1 level or above (or a similar discipline)
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing environments and lean principles
* Excellent data analysis skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Right to work in the UK, a valid passport, and willingness to travel when required
* Driver’s license and access to transport
Nice-to-have:
* Knowledge of aquaculture or food production industries
* Familiarity with MES, PLC, or SCADA systems
* Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar continuous improvement training
* Additional languages such as Spanish are desirable but not essential
Salary and Working Hours
Salary: £30k
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. These hours may be variable depending on role requirements and may include flexible hours:
* Start time between 8 am – 10 am
* Core hours: 9 am – 4 pm
* Finishing time: between 4 pm – 6 pm
The role includes a 3–6 month internal secondment to gain experience in the manufacturing environment as part of development. This is flexible but may involve shift work with Production management. Occasional out-of-hours or weekend work may be required to meet business needs.
