Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Steel Fabrication Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for steel fabrication projects, working closely with the sales, design, and production teams. This role is ideally suited to candidates who are local to Highworth or the surrounding Swindon area, enabling close collaboration with the office and workshop teams.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed estimates for steel fabrication projects, including material, labour, and subcontract costs
*
Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to produce accurate quotes
*
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify scope and cost implications
*
Monitor market rates and supplier pricing to ensure competitive estimates
*
Maintain records of all estimates and supporting documentation
*
Support tender submissions, including bid documentation and pricing schedules
*
Provide technical input during the design and planning stages, as required
Requirements
*
Proven experience as an Estimator in steel fabrication or structural steel projects
*
Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and construction methods
*
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
*
Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*
Local to Swindon or willing to commute
