Qualified Social Worker
Location: Greater Manchester
Pay rate: £39 per hour
We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Court and Child Protection Team. As part of this Authority’s Court and Child Protection Service, you will be working in a busy and supportive team that assesses and works with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage. The team carries out Section 47 Enquiries, progresses cases to Initial Child Protection Conference, and handles children in need work while planning for permanence from day one. Assessment work involves working directly with children and families, partnering with agencies including police and health to ensure the best outcomes with sustainable positive change.
The service maintains a strong link with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote local community support when social care no longer needs to be involved.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you'll make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you'll establish and maintain relationships with service users and agencies to meet identified needs.

Perfect candidate will be:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
* Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
* Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
* Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
* Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
* Committed to providing high-quality services.
* Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
* 4+ years qualified.
In this role you will:
* Use your skills, knowledge, and experience to assess risks, protection, and social care needs.
* Manage an agreed caseload.
* Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
* Devise individual care plans, considering diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
* Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to aid development.
