This is an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice IT Technician in the Reading area to help maintain, support and enhance the IT solutions we supply our customers. To be successful in this role you need to provide high quality support to our users, ensure that our systems are properly administered, and develop existing infrastructure and processes.
Duties
1. You will need to provide high quality support to our users via the helpdesk ticketing system
2. Prioritise and respond to tickets in a timely manner
3. Apply testing and troubleshooting to end user devices (PCs, laptops, tablets, Chromebooks, telephones, printers, LED panels & interactive panels
4. Weekly tasks to install, upgrade and remove hardware across sites
5. Maintenance of physical and cloud storage
6. Ensure that our systems are properly administered
7. Develop existing infrastructure and processes
8. Work with installs team to install cabling on sites, including fibre, data etc.
9. Adding devices to networks across sites
10. Daily monitoring of networks, focusing on DNS, firewall etc.
11. Opportunity to setup new systems and maintain them as schools moving to the cloud
About you
To be an IT Technician Apprentice, you must be a tech enthusiast with 5 GCSEs (ideally A* – C, 4-9) including Maths and English.
This 18-month Apprenticeship has a salary of £16, per year. You will also receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship team to increase your skills.
Your training will include gaining internationally recognised Level 3 IT qualifications.
