You’ll play a key role in delivering GCSE resit and Functional Skills English (Entry Level to Level 2) across a range of further education programmes, helping students build confidence and achieve their goals.

 About the Role
You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality English lessons, managing the classroom environment, assessing learners, and contributing to curriculum development. You’ll also support students with individual learning needs and help shape the future of English provision within the college.

Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
 1. A recognised teaching qualification (or be working towards one)
 2. A relevant degree or professional qualification in English or a related subject
 3. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and maths
 4. Lecturers must have demonstratable teaching experience
 5. Knowledge of innovative teaching techniques and curriculum development
 Key Responsibilities
 6. Deliver engaging English lessons across GCSE and Functional Skills programmes
 7. Plan, prepare and assess learning materials and student assignments
 8. Support learners through coaching, mentoring, and guidance
 9. Contribute to curriculum development and course leadership
 10. Maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievement
 11. Participate in recruitment, enrolment, and quality assurance activities
 12. Engage in professional development and contribute to departmental improvement
