Job Summary

Wigan MHST is excited to offer a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed professional to train as a CBT practitioner. This 12-month full time training post combines training with clinical practice and weekly supervision on a fully funded Postgraduate Diploma course. Once qualified you will be supported to deliver some element of Cognitive Behaviour therapy as part of your role where this fits with service requirements.

Job Description

Job responsibilities

During training, the post-holder will work under the supervision of their employing NHS Trust to gain experience in providing one to one CBT evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems in educational settings (principally anxiety and depression).

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

* Core profession Registered Nurse / Social Worker / Occupational therapist and evidence of study at Degree level (level 6) and professional registration. AND/OR BACP registered Professional

Desirable

* Relevant degree qualification

Knowledge

Essential

* Experience of Assessment and care planning skills, risk assessment and risk management for CYPs with mental health needs.

Desirable

* Knowledge of the functional operation of specialist CAMHS teams
* Low intensity interventions for low mood, worry/anxiety
* Working knowledge of the whole school approach to mental health

Essential

* Experience of safeguarding children and young people.

Desirable

* Proven commitment to continuous professional development

Other

* Interest in chosen modality. Commitment to self development and the chosen training and commitment to complete this within the 12 month time frame.
