Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with an SME based in Banbury to recruit a Financial Controller. The Financial Controller will receive a salary of up to £60,000 (potentially negotiable) along with other attractive benefits including hybrid remote working after an initial settling in period.
This is a broad role, and would suit an individual who doesn't mind rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck into the full accounting function.
Primary responsibilities;
1. Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
2. Production and analysis of profit & loss reports
3. Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting
4. Cash flow forecasting and cash management
5. Budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis
6. Preparation of financial reports and commentary for Directors
7. Work closely with the Directors on strategic planning and business growth
8. Provide financial insight and analysis to support decision-making
9. Management of monthly payroll processes
10. Oversee credit control processes and debtor management
11. Lead the year-end process and prepare supporting documentation
12. Assist external accountants with statutory accounts preparation
13. Management, support, and development of the Accounts Assistant
14. Maintain and improve finance processes and procedures
Key experience and attributes;
15. Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within an SME
16. Strong management accounting and commercial finance experience
17. Previous experience using Sage 50 Professional is highly desirable
18. Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
19. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
20. Confident communicator with the ability to work closely with Directors and wider teams
21. Experience managing or mentoring junior finance staff
