Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Team Administrator to provide support to the Oldham Learning Disability Service. We are a busy multi disciplinary team providing specialist health care to children and adults with learning disabilities who live in Oldham.


Main duties of the job

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to support high quality delivery of our busy service. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a full range of secretarial assistance and administrative support to all team members, including answering telephone calls, inputting and modifying data onto patient records, photocopying, maintaining diaries, arranging meetings and supporting the office manager.

This is a very varied role and you will be required to work flexibly in order to meet the day to day demands. You will need to deal with telephone enquiries efficiently and professionally, providing an appropriate and courteous response, passing on to the relevant colleague or taking messages when required. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office and have excellent keyboard skills.

As a crucial part of our team, you will be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative.


Working for our organisation

The postholder will be based with the Oldham Community Learning Disability Team at Spindles Shopping Centre. This is a part time position of 25 hours per week.

Education / Qualifications


Essential criteria

* •Evidence of recent further development / training to NVQ3 or equivalent
* •GCSE in English and Mathematics or equivalent


Desirable criteria

* •RSA II / ECDL or equivalent
* •Completion of PARIS Training


Experience


Essential criteria

* Significant administrative experience in a similar environment.
* Some experience of communicating with people with learning disabilities


Desirable criteria

* experience of managing difficult telephone calls
* experience of inputting referrals


Knowledge and Skills


Essential criteria

* Understanding of administrative processes. •
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection policies and procedures.
* Ability to utilise a range of IT programmes
* Ability to work flexibly and to prioritise workload
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to communicate with service users
* Ability to work as part of a team and individually
* Ability to competently use and modify a database
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to form productive working relationships with multi-disciplinary staff
