In this role you will be responsible for the resourcing needs of the Consulting department, including but not limited to the following areas:
1. Staff planning and resource management for the Consulting team including being a solution provider when it comes to job bookings
2. Reporting into Resource Lead, Managers and wider stakeholders and having real time overview of departmental staffing
3. Undertaking Exam Training Manager tasks for Consulting teams
You’ll make an impact by:
4. Providing first-line coordination support whilst working closely with Resource Administrators. This can sometimes involve making decisions that need a quick turn around and having difficult conversations with managers. Thinking outside of the box is an important skill and something which needs to be shown regularly
5. Liaising with key people responsible for staffing on a regular basis to discuss any resourcing issues, suggesting solutions to these issues and moving forward with them
6. Proactively looking out for solutions when someone leaves
7. Proactively updating department heads on critical and significant staffing developments
8. Taking overall responsibility for the roll-forward exercises across the departments and make sure completed by the national deadline
9. Observing and challenging staff bookings, comparing to budget and monitoring allocations
10. Working with departments in making sure annual leave/TOIL bookings land on the planner and follow policies
11. Maintaining consistent engagement with trainees throughout their training contract, ensuring they feel fully supported, particularly in the lead up to their exams
12. Collaborating with the National Training Team to carry out Exam Training Manager responsibilities, including providing pastoral support and managing study related requests such as deferrals or illness
13. Providing training and guidance to new Administrators to ensure they are fully equipped to support the role effectively
What we are looking for:
14. Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage complex internal staffing needs across multiple teams
15. Previously demonstrated ability to work closely with a range of stakeholders of varying levels of seniority, including challenging conversations and offering creative solutions
16. A high level of initiative and problem-solving skills, particularly when responding to urgent resourcing issues or unexpected changes
17. A keen eye for detail when it comes to staff bookings, budget alignment and policy compliance
18. An empathetic and supportive approach, particularly in exam training, ensuring trainees feel guided and cared for throughout their training journey
19. An individual who is comfortable working with data and reporting, maintaining real-time oversight of departmental staffing and resource allocations
20. A willingness to travel to offices when needed and provide training and guidance to new team members to ensure consistency and excellence in support
21. A background in consulting within professional services would be advantageous
