Salary: £140 – £200 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a specialist school in Scunthorpe, supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to help students re-engage with learning, develop key literacy skills, and build confidence in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages, tailored to meet individual learning needs.
* Inspire students to express themselves creatively and develop essential communication skills.
* Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning through differentiated teaching and positive behaviour strategies.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and SENCOs to ensure student progress and wellbeing.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Previous experience working with students displaying challenging behaviour or within an SEMH/alternative provision setting (desirable).
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
* Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, term time only.
* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
