Overview
This is a cross site post between the North Tees and the Hartlepool sites. The post requires the post holder to have knowledge and understanding of Endoscopy patient pathways in order to appropriately book a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures following the endoscopy training. Ability to deliver all reception duties is also a requirement of the role, again following the appropriate training.
Responsibilities
* Book endoscopy diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
* Communicate with multi-disciplinary medical and surgical teams.
* Adhere to all Trust and Endoscopy specific policies, procedures and guidelines; ensure work outputs meet high quality standards and that patient waiting times and pathway targets are met.
* Identify when additional capacity is required to meet waiting list targets and liaise with Endoscopy Coordinators and Endoscopy Admin Lead to organise capacity efficiently and with best use of resources.
* Carry out reception duties including arriving and discharging patients onto the Endoscopy Unit via the Trust39s electronic patient record (TrakCare).
* Utilise appropriate technologies and equipment to maintain optimum functionality.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills and liaise professionally with staff from other services and external service users (e.g., GPs, patients and representatives).
* Support the updating and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
* Organise interpreters following appropriate Trust policies and processes.
* Perform general office duties including opening and distributing post, housekeeping, filing, photocopying and maintaining stock of routine supplies.
Requirements/Qualifications
* Knowledge and understanding of Endoscopy patient pathways to book diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures after endoscopy training.
* Ability to deliver all reception duties following appropriate training.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and external service users in a professional and courteous manner.
* Ability to work within Trust policies and Endoscopy guidelines and maintain high standards of quality and timeliness.
* Experience with electronic patient records (e.g., TrakCare) and other relevant technologies.
* Experience with organising interpreters and performing general office duties.
