Data Quality Assistant – Band 3

Fixed term or secondment opportunity available until the end of March 2027. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Data Quality Team as a Data Quality Assistant. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data. The Data Quality Team is responsible for implementing robust processes to guarantee high levels of accuracy in data capture, assignment and validation.


Main Duties

* Support the Data Quality Team in working with services to ‘get it right the first time’ (informed data entry).
* Identify, process and correct data quality issues within clinical systems.
* Implement processes to ensure data is recorded accurately by clinical and administrative teams.
* Perform waiting list validation and data cleansing as part of the EPR project.
* Provide advice and guidance to managers and clinical teams across the Trust on data quality; escalated issues to data quality facilitators.

Person Specification – Essential


Qualifications

* GCSEs including English and Maths
* Knowledge acquired through practical experience or qualification such as basic level of Certificate of Technical Competence (IHRIM), HNC in Business Administration or equivalent
* ECDL or equivalent


Experience

* Experience working with health or social care records or information management environment
* Experience using electronic patient record systems


Knowledge

* Records management and the NHS Records Management Code of Practice
* Paper and electronic patient record systems and patient administration systems
* Health Records policies and procedures including Data Subject Access, Confidentiality, and Protection of Personal Information
* IT literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications


Skills

* Good interpersonal skills and influencing abilities
* Strong literacy, numeracy and written and verbal communication skills
* Interpretation, data collation and report writing
* Management skills including human resource and budgetary skills
* Keyboard skills
* Team player

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) is required to check for any previous criminal convictions. The cost of DBS will be met by the successful candidate via salary deduction as follows: Standard Check – £27.40 (price includes administration); Enhanced Check – £55.40 (price includes administration).
