Job summary
This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the radiotherapy team at UCLH and to become a key member of the head and neck-oncology service. The post holder will provide care to patients receiving treatment with advanced photon and proton radiotherapy techniques. This role includes supporting patients and their families through highly specialised treatment planning, delivery, and toxicity management, ensuring positive outcomes and experiences.
The post involves working alongside a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and colleagues across Trust and primary care to develop services that enhance patient support and improve outcomes. Comprehensive proton beam therapy training will be provided.
Main duties include managing own caseload autonomously, providing clinical leadership, promoting best practices, advising patients and carers, and ensuring standards and guidelines are followed. The role also involves evaluating patient conditions daily, contributing to pathway management, and supporting research and service development to improve quality, patient care, and staff satisfaction.

Person Specification
Qualifications:
* BSc in therapeutic radiography or equivalent
* HPC registration as a therapy
* Experience in planning and dosimetry
* Non-medical prescribing (to be undertaken if not already held)
* Understanding of research governance
Desirable:
* Participation in audit/clinical governance
* MSc or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of statistics and research
* Good Clinical Practice certification
Experience:
* Postgraduate experience with specialist training
* Practical radiotherapy planning and delivery experience, including molecular radiotherapy
* Leadership experience
Skills and Abilities:
* Provide specialist clinical training and presentations at national levels
Additional requirements include DBS check, UK registration, and sponsorship considerations.
