**Position Overview**
We are seeking a **Biotechnology Article Writer** with a specific interest in agricultural and nutritional science. This role involves researching and communicating complex biotechnological concepts related to modern farming, sustainable practices, and nutritional science to a diverse audience, including our agricultural technicians, community partners, and international stakeholders.
Your work will be instrumental in educating our community and the wider public on how biotechnology contributes to food security, improved nutrition, and sustainable development in Angola.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Research, write, and edit compelling, evidence-based articles on biotechnology topics, including:
* **Agricultural Biotechnology:** Crop improvement, drought-resistant plants, sustainable farming techniques.
* **Nutritional Science:** Biofortification, enhancing nutritional content of crops, food processing.
* **Environmental Sustainability:** Soil health, reducing agricultural waste, eco-friendly biotech solutions.
* Translate sophisticated scientific research and data into clear, accessible, and engaging content for both technical and non-technical readers.
* Collaborate with our agronomists, nutritionists, and sustainability experts to ensure all content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with our mission.
* Develop a variety of materials, including blog posts, whitepapers, stakeholder reports, and educational pamphlets.
* Stay current on the latest advancements and debates in agricultural biotechnology relevant to the Angolan and Sub-Saharan African context.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
* **Essential:**
* A degree in Biotechnology, Agricultural Science, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field. An advanced degree (Master's/PhD) is a strong advantage.
* Proven experience in scientific writing, science journalism, or technical communication, with a portfolio of published work.
* Strong understanding of agricultural practices and biotechnological applications in an African context is highly desirable.
* Exceptional research, analytical, and fact-checking skills.
* Ability to write fluently and professionally in **English**. Proficiency in **Portuguese** is a significant advantage.
* Cultural sensitivity and a passion for sustainable development and community empowerment.
* **Preferred:**
* Experience writing about agriculture, development, or public health for non-specialist audiences.
* Familiarity with SEO principles for digital science content.
