Overview
We are seeking a Legal Secretary/ Administration assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidates will provide essential administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
* Prepare and format legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, and reports using Microsoft Word and other software.
* Conduct audio typing for dictations and transcriptions as required.
* Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for legal professionals.
* Maintain accurate filing systems, both electronic and paper-based, ensuring all documents are organised and easily accessible.
* Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties via email and telephone.
* Assist in the preparation of case files for court hearings and trials.
* Utilise Microsoft Office applications, including Excel for data management and PowerPoint for presentations.
Skills
* Proficient in audio typing with a strong attention to detail.
* Previous administrative experience within a legal environment is desirable .
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
* Strong typing skills with a high degree of accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to learn new IT systems quickly.
* Exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
