The Opportunity
We are seeking a Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join us in Edinburgh.
As a leader in the Ground Engineering Group, your responsibilities will include:
* Support team growth and provide project leadership
* Participate in geotechnical investigation campaigns
* Design geotechnical structures and act as a technical reviewer
* Make decisions and technical recommendations for UK programmes in the energy sector and other infrastructure projects
* Lead and direct large‑scale geotechnical studies, identify and mitigate risks
* Manage complex technical situations and advise on new methods and tools
* Coaching and leadership of staff, and contribute to service proposals
* Advocate for the development of geotechnical engineering within Stantec UK and Ireland
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geological or related engineering (Master preferred). • Extensive experience in infrastructure projects. • Chartered membership or actively working towards chartership (ICE or Geological Society). • Excellent technical writing skills for interpretative reports. • Proven experience in design and analysis of geotechnical structures. • Leadership experience managing teams. • Passion for delivering quality geotechnical solutions.
