We are looking for a Schools' Touring Producer to join the National Theatre Learning Team.
As part of the NT Schools Engagement team and working closely with the NT Producing team, this role will take responsibility for the delivery of nationwide tours for schools for the National Theatre. The producer will be responsible for developing and delivering tours for primary, secondary and further education audiences in schools, colleges and venues.
The producer will ensure that both teams work together on the creation and delivery of tours for schools that offer artistic work of the highest standard, that are engaging for schools audiences and respond to the school curriculum. The producer will work in partnership with the Schools Engagement Project Managers to deliver Learning resources for schools. Key areas of responsibility will include acting as line producer, budget management, tour booking and liaison with schools and venues and negotiating contracts.
The role is part of the Learning Schools Engagement team comprising the Head of Schools Engagement, two Project Managers, two Coordinators and one assistant. The role will also have a dotted line to the Head of Producing Operations in the Producing team. The role has the potential for line management responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have the following:
1. Experience of producing professional theatre and/or demonstrable experience of project management on large scale arts education projects
2. Highly organised with experience of delivering complex projects on time and budget
3. Experience of contract negotiation, drafting and execution
4. Experience of developing education resources, including digital resources
5. Knowledge of contemporary theatre practice and performance, including work for young people & new writing
