Rate of Pay: £29.42 - £39.00 per hour
Summary:
The SEND Caseworker Officer will support schools, services, and families in meeting the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role focuses on coordinating statutory assessments, managing Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans, and ensuring a multi-agency, child-centred approach that delivers positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Support schools, settings, services, and families in applying the graduated approach to meeting SEND needs
* Coordinate the statutory assessment process for pupils with SEND and monitor progress against agreed outcomes
* Manage the Education, Health and Care planning process from assessment through to placement and review
* Ensure all statutory timescales are met in the development and review of EHC plans
* Provide advice, guidance, and support to SENCos and Head Teachers
* Work closely with internal colleagues including SENISS, Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology, and wider Childrens and Adult Social Care services
Essentials:
* Relevant experience within an education or Childrens Services environment
* Ideally experience working as a SEND Caseworker or SEND Officer
* In-depth knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and associated SEND legislation, including SENDIST regulations
* Experience coordinating statutory assessments and EHC planning processes
* Experience of facilitating and contributing to review meetings
