Responsibilities
As a senior technical leader in our Power Systems Team, you will play a key role in delivering complex consultancy projects, guiding junior engineers, supporting business development, and ensuring technical excellence in power systems studies.
* Lead and deliver power systems study projects (steady-state, RMS, and EMT-based)
* Support and prepare technical and commercial proposals
* Apply study results to system design and equipment specifications
* Interact with clients, grid operators, developers, EPCs, and OEMs
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge growth
Technical Expertise – You Bring At Least 5 of the Following:
* Load Flow, Reactive Power, Short-Circuit, Power Quality & Stability Studies
* Protection coordination and Arc Flash analysis
* Insulation coordination (EMT), TRV, Ferro-resonance analysis
* Techno-economic assessments and grid compliance studies
* HVDC systems and sub-synchronous interaction studies
* Scripting/automation of power analysis tools
* Experience with software such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSSE, ETAP, Python, MATLAB
* Substation design and equipment specification
* Renewable integration and corresponding grid codes
* Technical due diligence for power projects
What You'll Need
* Bachelor’s, MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
* 10+ years’ relevant professional experience
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng) desirable
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Experience with UK Grid/Distribution Codes and stakeholders (e.g., NGESO, DNOs, developers)
